Who Writes This Site

Hu Qian is the sole editor of hu-qian.com. I run this site the way I run a business: as a single operator testing tools, tracking real costs, and publishing the numbers — not the marketing copy.

What I Cover

  • Software cost transparency — renewal traps, hidden fees, and total cost of ownership for the tools solo founders actually use.
  • AI tool & API relay reviews — pricing, limits, reliability, and fit for one-person businesses.
  • Acquisition & micro-SaaS due diligence — what actually happens when you buy an online business.
  • One-person business operations — SEO, automation, affiliate economics, and workflows.

How I Work

  • Tested before recommended. Tools that enter my live workflows get documented. Tools I have not tested are explicitly labeled as untested.
  • Facts separated from inference. Vendor-published figures are labeled as vendor claims. My own recorded observations are dated. Estimates are flagged as estimates.
  • Sources disclosed. Every review page carries a data & source disclosure noting where the underlying information came from.

Editorial Standards

  • I disclose affiliate relationships (see the Affiliate Disclosure).
  • I do not accept paid placements — no one can pay to rank higher in a comparison table.
  • If a figure cannot be verified, I say so instead of guessing.
